What’s it like at the Temple of Ink?
The Temple is situated above Espresso Bueno in Barre, VT, and is up a steep flight of stairs. There are no handicap accessible ways to access us at this time.
When you arrive at the studio, there will be an a small division and you’ll have the option to go left or right. Chances are I’ll flag you down, but my station is in the room to the left alongside Rose’s. To the right is a waiting area, another artist room, and at the end of the building is where Evan tattoos.
There is one gender neutral bathroom inside the studio. Water, tea and sometimes juice are available during your time here.
Sound: Because we’re in a central part of Barre, we will hear traffic sounds, occasional sounds of people, and the train running through town. In the summer it’s a bit warm but we do have AC.
Privacy: We have large windows that overlook the town. Nobody is able to see in the windows but if you’re bashful please be advised that you may feel a bit exposed. We have one privacy screen but the space is pretty open concept so there is little room for privacy.
Smells: Chemical smells are not overly present but there are strong chemical sterilizing agents used in order to keep our studio safe against bloodborne pathogens. If someone has a strong sensitivity to chemical agents, they should be aware that all surfaces being used in the tattoo process have been wiped with matacide.
