What’s it like at the Temple of Ink?
The Temple is situated in an office suite; 90 Main St, Montpelier, VT; in a large block in downtown Montpelier. To get to the second floor where we’re located, you can take either stairs or an elevator.
When you arrive at the studio, there will be a gate at the door that you’ll open and enter into a waiting room. Please come right into the tattoo room on the right!
If you have mobility needs like a wheelchair, please let us know ahead of time as there are low tables and chairs in the waiting room that we would love to resituate so that you’re able to get to your tattoo without hassle.
There is one gender neutral, handicap accessible bathroom on the left before you enter the studio. Water, tea and juice are available during your time here.
Macro surroundings: Nestled in the artists’ collective known as HEAL, the tattoo room is one of four rooms in the collective where different creatives will be in and out on their own schedules. That means there will be occasional peripheral noise and folks appearing every now and again.
Micro surroundings: The tattoo room itself holds two stations, where Charlotte and Meredith respectively work. Privacy screens may be provided, but in general there is a possibility that you will be tattooed beside other humans also getting tattooed. If you want more privacy, please include that in your booking request form!
Deep Inquiries will be held in a cozy, private room.
Sounds: Street sounds and protest sounds are audible from the second floor. The artists play music while working, which is at a moderate volume. HEAL is an inclusive, welcoming studio for all and while genres vary, the content is always respectful.
Smells: There is occasionally incense burned. Chemical smells are not overly present but there are strong chemical sterilizing agents used in order to keep our studio safe against bloodborne pathogens. If someone has a strong sensitivity to chemical agents, they should be aware that all surfaces being used in the tattoo process have been wiped with matacide.

Covid information: Most people in our studio do not mask. If this is a need for you please let us know. Covid tests are not available on site.
